Strengthening economic relations between Algeria and The United Kingdom

As part of strengthening economic relations between Algeria and the United Kingdom, the second meeting of the Algerian-British Working Group on bilateral economic relations was held on 22 April 2026 in London.

This meeting is part of the ongoing momentum to consolidate the economic partnership between the two countries and made it possible to reaffirm the shared will to raise bilateral relations to a higher level. The discussions focused on intensifying economic and trade exchanges and investment flows, as well as developing structured and sustainable cooperation in priority and strategic areas.

The meeting highlighted the main reforms undertaken by Algeria aimed at improving the business climate, strengthening the competitiveness of the national economy, and encouraging productive investment. It also highlighted investment opportunities, as well as the prospects offered by the Algerian market, through the presentation of already completed projects as well as new structuring projects in several priority sectors, notably agriculture, mining, infrastructure, industry, energy transition, and the digitization of the economy.

The exchanges also focused on the sharing of expertise, technology transfer, and the strengthening of technical cooperation in high-potential areas. Both parties emphasized the importance of complementarities between the Algerian and UK economies, as an essential lever to develop mutually beneficial and value-creating partnerships.
